Scribble Me! Buzzing Bee

Howdy!

Did you know that April was Lawn & Garden month? I love being outdoors in the spring. Thankfully, I don't have allergies like my dear hubby. I can be outside for hours listening to the birds sing and admiring the beautiful flowers and green plants & trees. It's just a little bit of heaven I think.

Today is a my GDT spotlight here on my blog for the wonderful Scribble Design Challenge Blog. I decided to recreate a card I saw while spending way too many hours looking thru all the amazing inspiration on Pinterest. Unfortunately the image of this card was a dead link, so I am unable to give credit where credit is due. But the card.... oh so cute!

Images used: Bumble Bee"Hello"

I did change the papers and added the bow and sentiment, but isn't just the cutest? I thought it was a perfect card to celebrate Lawn and Garden month. Now, the coolest thing about this card - this is a FREE images from Scribbles Designs! How wonderful is that?? She actually has a bunch of wonderful FREE images you can download immediately. Run go check them out and download 'ya a few.

To make this card, I used: Neenah cardstock, Robin's Nest zebra paper, American Crafts polka dot paper and SU black glitter paper, boarder punch and ribbon. I colored the fatty with my Copics adding Wink of Stella. I drew his little loopy path with a black gel pen.

Scribble Me ~ Always Together

Hey! Go grab a cold one and when you do, grab it's always faithful little bubby the pretzel! But, before you do, you need to know that  these two BFFs have their very own holidays! Yep! April 7th was (is) National Beer Day and April 26th is National Pretzel Day! No joke people - can't make this up!

And with today being my GDT spotlight here on my blog for the wonderful Scribble Design Challenge Blog. I thought I'd throw together a card for my upcoming wedding anniversary. And since he loves beer and I adore pretzels, this card combo was a simple Duh-Huh!

Images used: PretzelBeer Mug, "Always Together"

To make this card, I used: Stampin Up cardstock, Bo Bunny pattern paper and metals dies. I colored both images with Copics adding Wink of Stella to the beer foam and liquid glass to the salt spots on the pretzel.

Scribble me! World Penguin Day is Almost Here

Yep, you heard me correctly! April 25th is World Penguin Day! Didn't know about this holiday did you??

When I found out I decided to celebrate the joy by creating this card. Since today I am acting as a Guest Designer for Scribbles Designs, I found this adorable Scribbles Designs image. And yes, I know the time for snowflakes in the south is long gone. But, I try to make my Christmas cards all year long so I don't have a panic party in November when I need 60 cards to mail out. So, "check", one more card completed! :insert smiley face:

I used SU and Neenah cardstock, Bo Bunny patterned papers and a wee tiny ribbon from Hobby Lobby. The snowball bling is from Michaels and was just the perfect little accent. I colored this little guy with my Copics and although you can't see it I put Wink of Stella on this little beak and bow tie.

Please don't forget to head over to Scribbles Design Challenge Blog so you can see the current challenge and submit your project to the mix. You can win a great prize my friend! And if you follow the links under the picture of my card, you can make your own version of my Christmas card for the upcoming holidays.

And don't forget to celebrate our little well dressed north pole friends come April 25th. Share some love!

Travelers Journals - I. Am. In. LOVE.

This past week has been spring break for Wildman's school. We've had a rather relaxed "staycation". During research for a recent project I came across Travelers Journals. More specifically Midori's. They've been around for years - but I'm new to them. Now, when I worked in the "real world" I carried a huge leather bound, zip round date book. I created all my inserts for it even back then - WELL, having fallen in love with "Fauxdori's" - I saw no other option!

I decided on the regular size insert, mostly cuz it's basically an 8.5x11 piece of paper folded in half. I do trim a bit off all the way around. I then decided I'd create one book for the month/week, one book for my blog organization, one book for birthdays/anniversaries and addresses and one that is my journal. YEPPIE! I learned more publishing and design tricks about Word in 1 week then I've learned in years!

These are pocket folders I created out of decorative file folders.

Inside has two pockets I can stick all kinds of goodies into.

I created this adorable 4 pocket insert from a regular file folder that I covered in some FAB pattern papers from a paper pack my hubby bought me for my birthday a year or so ago. I created a pattern for the outer cover (after watching this GREAT tutorial on MyCraftChannel.) I will post pictures once it's completed (I've gotta get Pellon.)

Thanks for hanging in there for a long & passionate post -

So, on to my card! How stinkin' cute is this little bunny?! I mean come on! With Easter just a week away, I wanted to create a cute Easter card to send to my daughter in Virginia.

Images used: B Bunny Joy, "Happy"

For this cutie pie, I used Basic Grey Papers, Neenah & Michael's cardstock, crocheted trim & pink bling from Hobby Lobby,  SU ink, Copic markers, Joann Fabric Embossing folder and a stitched rectangle die. I cut the bunting by hand and folded in over some Michael's twine.

Exciting News Friends!

I will be acting as a Guest Design Team Member for one of my fav designers!! Over the months of April, May and June, I will be posting for the Scribbles Designs Challenge Blog! I will be posting on Sandy's blog the 2nd and 4th Saturdays. I decided to post every Saturday here on my blog using her wonderfully fun images. I thought a fun way to use her images would be to feature odd and obscure holidays! But, please know, I didn't make any of these holidays up. That's what makes some of these dates so dang funny!

Sooo, April is National Humor Month, Keep America Beautiful Month, National Pecan Month and oddly enough with it being National Humor Month, it's also Stress Awareness Month! So, mind your stress and remember to laugh!!

My 1st cards is only here on my blog, BUT, I decided to show you how you can use your images in very different ways then they may have been intended. These cute little elf boots were drawn with Christmas in mind. But, in honor of April Fool's Day, I made this funny little card. Just changed the colors up a wee bit and there you have it.

Scribbles Designs Images Used: #880 Elf's Boot 2

I used my Copics to color his little booties. I added matching paper to the bottom of my cut & matted image. I chose to use two different circle embossing folders in keeping with his polka dot tights. Added a pick button and he's done. This card makes me smile and I hope it'll make my daughter smile too when she gets it in the mail.

Don't forget to stop back by every Saturday to see more of Sandy's designs! Click on the links to participate in her monthly challenge and to purchase some of her versatile designs!
