Not my circus...

Howdy Ho Neighbor!!

Well, sadly, today is my last guest DT post for So Suzy Stamps. It's been fun and I really appreciate the privilege of being able to create using her fab-u-kitty images....

So here he is! Squeeee, I've fallen in love with this little guy. And may I just say this sentiment is (of course) simply perfect! It's been super hard to hold on to these 3 images and to make them the last card, but I'm happy I did.

Images used:  Monkey, Palm Tree, Not My Circus

For the base of the card, I used your simple 5.5" x 4.25 white. I added the dark brown and layered a flower print strip at 2.25 x 5 1/8, the yellow polka dots was cut to 3.5 x 3" and I cut the last white layer to 3.25 x 2.75. I also used my paper cutter to emboss a few stripes down the flower print paper, but in hind-site, you really can't tell.

I stamped all my images on white Neehan. I colored the tree and little monkey with my Copics. The monkey: E50, E33, E34 & E35. The tree top and grass: YG61, G21, YG63 & G94. The tree trunk: E23, E25 & E27. For the coconuts: E71, E74, E77 & E79. Oh, a little helpful tip. I am not the most talented of Copic users, and I cannot tell you how many times I've gotten all the way down to using my 100 black to color the outline of the cut image to hid what white may be left and to give it a nice finished look and my hand totally slips! And then there it is a HUGE black line across my wonderfully colored image. POOP - then you have to start all over if you can't find a way to hide it with an embellishment of some sort..... may I suggest?? I use my Stampin Up GRAY marker. It's a much thinner nib and therefore much easier to maneuver and much less juicy. I've been much happier with the out come.

I decided to stamp the sentiment and then cut it apart. I like to use scraps for everything I possibly can to save money for wonderful things like So Suzy's stamps!!

I decided just the white words got lost, so I mounted them on the same dark brown I used as the card base layer. Since I've already packed up a large majority of my craft room (moving in just 2.5 weeks!!) Since I've been doing a lot of  quilting, I had DMC floss out and used it across the bottom on the and then up through a button.

So, there you have it! My little monkey card. I love this little guy, did I already mention that??

Simple Little Lovin'

Whoo Hoo - Time for my 2nd card for So Suzy Stamps Blog! I must admit, I've been cleaning up and packing so I've really been enjoying cleaner, more simple cards... go figure huh?!

I wanted to make one more card using stamps that reminded me of spring ~ even though hubby's sneezing like crazy, I just adore this time of year. Feel horrible for him tho....

Images used: Rose, XOXO & Wink of Stella
I decided it's been a long time since I used my aqua pens and thought these roses would be pretty using a bit of ink and water. I inked the image using an archival ink after I taped over the leaf and stem with plain old scotch tape. Once the image was ready, I removed the tape and used a marker to color the leaves and stem and stamped on white card stock. I didn't use water color paper as I am not using a lot of water. Just remember to "huff" on the stamp when not going directly to paper with the ink.

I used an embossing folder to add some depth to the card. I also popped half a white doily behind the base layer. I added a little layered flower to the sentiment. And before I "glued" it all together, I added more super yummy, clear Wink of Stella to the dry images. I love "mah" Wink of Stella!

It's a very simple, little, springy, love filled card. I will be sending this card to my "DIL to be", her fav color is purple. Now, I sure hope you go over to the So Suzy Stamps shop and pick up some pretty images ~ She has TONS! ~ to put together some spring cards for yourself!

Thank you so much to Suzanne for letting me create a little "sum-pin sum-pin" for the blog and as always, thank you for taking the time to come over and see what I created!

Big hugs to each of you!!

Common Sense Garden

Super FUN  news kiddies!! I will be over at So Suzy Stamps Blog for 3 wonderful Guest Design Team posts! Today is the 1st and here's what I've created:

I wanted to feature stamps that reminded me of spring ~ I'm sooo very ready for nicer weather, how about you?? Spring makes me feel so very happy and alive.

I stamped the ever so beautiful peony flower on a piece of card stock measuring 2.75" wide x 3.25" tall. I then made a mask of the peony flower using a post-it note so I could stamp the herb so it looked like it was behind the flower. (I stamped the mask in in red)

I heat embossed the sentiment on the bottom of my craft color card stock. I added a bright blue strip and a slightly smaller sparkly layer between.

The last step for me was to add clear Wink of Stella to the dry, stamped images. I love how the Wink of Stella made these flower sparkle! squeeee!!

Now with this easy~peasy card posted here, I hope you too are ready to create some super spring filled cards! Head on over to the So Suzy Stamps shop and pick up your stamps and get started on your wonderful spring projects!

I am Hooked!

I've been sucked into the world of Pocket Letters at least until I can get settled and start scrapbook again. I really miss creating my scrapbooks! So, my latest swaps are here:

These will both be private swaps (again.) The 1st (above) was to be "February Red". I especially love the heart picture in the bottom right.

This swap above I decided to join a group who likes to swap states and/or countries. I will receive a Florida and Belgium in return. On the back of each of these little art pieces I typed facts about the image on front and what it means to Georgia. The bottom left is suppose to be a peanut. The house in the center right is the Margaret Mitchell house in Atlanta. She's the lady who wrote Gone with the Wind. =) Although the flower I use is actually a dogwood, it is suppose to be a Cherokee Rose (the state flower.) Can't wait to get these cuties in the mail, hope they like them!

It's my 1st ever

I'm sure I am not unlike many of you in that I love swapping. Creating to swap and receive little works of art in return. But, as I've been swapping for years and more recently been part of some fabulous design teams, my collection of cards has continued to grow. I have donated, gifted, delivered and mailed tons of cards and still the collection grows. I have also created and swapped ATCs and Tags. I recently decided to give a look at these Pocket Letters. Even joined the group here.

Four days later, I have this to show:

This is my 1st and is for a one on one swap without a theme. I just created using things I knew my swap partner said she liked (gardening, purple and cats.) Well, this one is mine and I like pink - I decided to make two as I created. One to send and one to keep. Glad I did cuz I'm happy with the way it turned out. I am moving on to one that is for February and red in color.  I'll post it when it's done. If you are reading this post and enjoy swapping pocket letters and would like to swap with me - leave me a comment here and we'll work out the details.)

Once Upon A Time

This coming week is the 24 Hour of Daytona and hubby will be traveling down with Riley Technologies and although I'm nervous about his knees and wrists I'm ever so happy to see him back at the track doing what makes him so happy. And as with every trip since we've been a couple, I've made a card to "secretly" tuck into his suitcase for him to read when he finds it while he's gone.

Now, I saw a card similar to this on Pinterest and really liked the way it looked. I changed it up a little bit and will hide this tomorrow while he's packing. I used a little bit of ribbon & card stock I bought at Joann's, the script paper is from The Robin's Nest and the stamp set is an ooold set I bought at Archivers. The punches and little enamel dots (I think) are from Stampin Up. Oh yeah, the embossing folder is Cuttle Bug and the ink is chocolate chip from SU too.

Love you lots

Hello friends!

Today I would like to share with you the new challenge at Scribbles Designs. Love is in the air and we are focusing on having a heart.  I made this cute little card for my daughter. I enjoy making cards and mailing them to her. I know how it brings a smile to her.

I added some color to my little heart with Copics. I punched tiny, little hearts out of glitter pink card stock and added those to the swirl embossed white card stock 1st layer. I added sheer purple ribbon and a few layers for the image and sentiment.

This month's sponsors...
Top Scribbler receives $10 worth of digital images, winner's choice

Little Kitty Meuu Meuu

Hubby's away in Daytona for the 24 Hour Daytona Race Practice. I'm here with a clean house and nothing really great on TV so I decided to make another card for my daughter. You can pretty much guess if it has a cat on it, it's for her! My soon to be DIL and son will be moving to Germany this coming fall and I know I'll be mailing stuff to them too. Need to find out what images she likes as I already know she like purple. =)

I used the really cute treat bag die set, ribbon and card stock from Stampin' Up. My pattern papers and image are digital and I used my Copic's (like always) to make a gray tuxedo kitty with green eyes. I think I'll keep a hold of it for a little longer and send it to her for Valentine's Day. Maybe send a wee bit of chocolate or something. But for now, I want to play along with a challenge I used to be design for, Cut It Up. If you enjoy making 3D items with die cuts or die cut machines, you should head over and check it out.

Know what I've missed??

Being able to simply play along with a really fun challenge (or two). Although, I must admit I really need to find an outlet for all these cards I've been making over the past year or so! I've got so many there's no way I could meet enough people to mail them to. lol

I have had this chicken stamp for a number of years and have always thought it was just the cutest image. I picked it up one year at a local rubber stamping convention. My sentiment is from So Suzy Stamps. I used twine, card stock and pattern paper from packages I bought from either Hobby Lobby or Joann Fabrics. My inks are Copic and Distress Inks.

For this cute little gal, I used a great Tiddly Inks image and papers from Stampin Up with a bit of sheer ribbon from Joann Fabrics. I used my Copics to give her some color and added a bit of glossy accents to her flowers.

Happy days to you...

Wow, where did 2015 go? It's insane how slowly it starts out and then by the end of the year, you're suffering from whiplash! So, here are a few pics of the fun we had this Christmas. Wildman with his Nerf Doominator and Sissy sportin' her new "warmies".

We had a great holiday but sadly, our oldest son and his fiance weren't here this year. We will get to see them soon I hope, maybe this spring.

So, I've got some news to share, it's been a while since I shared personal goodies here.... we have had some big changes here in our home. I've had to refocus on my medical conditions and stress/depression management - need to figure some things out. That and we will be moving again, one more time. It'll more than likely be sooner than we expected. And after this move we will be able to stay put for a good number of years - THANK GOODNESS!! I've moved way too many times in the past 3 years. More than I care to admit. And due to this upcoming move, I'll be working hard to get things organized, cleaned out and packed. I've decided to step down from a few of my DT assignments. I just won't have the time or energy to focus on my duties. I will continue to work with Scribbles Designs and share those challenges and projects with you. I will also check in from time to time with other little life "thangs". Hopefully you'll hang out with me and maybe even come over to Scribbles to join in the challenge fun!

Bingo a Go Go

I really hope you all had a GREAT holiday and that it was filled with family and friends. And if you are anything like me, you've been itching to get back into my craft room to have a little alone, me, fun time too. So, I am back again today with the 3rd and fourth weeks of a super fun challenge over at  Scribbles Designs. It's all about the fun of a game we've all played at least once, Bingo!

So, IF you haven't played a BINGO challenge before it is a pretty easy concept to follow.  Simply create a card or other kind of project using any 5 items listed below in a row--across, down or diagonally, it is up to you.  Just as long as you follow the standard 5 in a row using those elements to create your card you will be just fine! Here's Sandy's Bingo board.

When I came across this  GREAT, SUPER funny image set I knew I had to use it for my DT cards for the entire challenge and with a handful of wonderfully zany images and sentiments in the set it was super easy!

Images I've used: When Crap Happens

I used the center row going down from the bingo board and have included bling, pattern paper, ribbon and twine with my card. My free items were the little black buttons. The ribbon I pushed thru a small cut in the image of the toilet paper, it's suppose to look kinda like TP. I added the clear bling to the roll dispenser, handle and "bolts" on the toilet itself.

Top Scribbler receives $10 worth of digital images, winner's choice
Top 3 receives $3 worth of digital images
So, now it's your turn to come up with a wonderful take on an age old fav - BINGO!! Remember to follow 5 items in a row from the card above and boy oh boy, I can't wait to see it! Be sure you go to Scribble Designs Challenge blog and add your card to the linky. I'll see you there!
